On December 23, 2011 I visited Briarcliff Apartments. December 24, I visited Briarcliff Apartments again to pay my application and
admin fees. On December 28, 2011 I went back to sign my lease. I was initially happy with the staff and complex as a whole. As I signed my lease, I get to the second to last page after the
bed bug addendum, and there is a NO SMOKING policy". NEVER on any of the days did anyone mention to me that I could not smoke in my apartment/. Had this been displayed, mentioned, or even hinted I would not have spent my 200 dollars KNOWING that I smoke cigarettes?. Even the apartment that was shown to me I could tell had been a smokers apartment:.
I asked that the staff shred my application and return my money to me|. The first answer was NO.. I was not willing to leave the apartment with the answer of no because this was CLEARLY a discrepancy on their part!. The young woman’s response to me was she didn’t mention it because I don’t look like I smoke!. (Whatever that means)
AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT RETURNED MY CALLS OR MONEY. 1291043
